Type+Image is a print project with an emphasis on image. The goal of this project was to take a section of the book Laws of Simplicity by John Meada and design it in a way that made the image the star of the book, and type secondary. The book uses a grid layout to portray image as the primary form of storytelling and making type secondary.
The process of creating it was quite simple: choose a Law of Simplicity and take photographs that would symbolize the law and represent it. After many hand sketches of page layouts and systems, I created a saddle-stitched book that showcases image in a meaningful way. From this project I learned a lot about how images can be used to tell a story and convey a meaning.
