Collage Collection is a print project with an emphasis on image and found type. The goal of this project was to move beyond literal representations and understand how abstraction plays a role in message making. I really enjoyed the process of creating these compositions. First, I collected assets from the web, magazines, newspapers, books, etc. I gained inspiration from designers before me such as Max Ernst or Herbert Matter.
It was sometimes a struggle to create something that could hold a message, but I learned to think outside the box, and by experiment. The end result of this project brought me several interesting compositions and explorations and it taught me different ways I can use image to portray a message.
